Oudenaarde, 11 March 2025 - Belgian motorbike brand Saroléa is launching a speed pedelec for the first time. 120 years after the launch of the Saroléa 1905 motor-assisted bike, the brand-new LE60 combines the brand's rich history and state-of-the-art technologies. With a range of more than 100 km, a low weight of 26 kg, integrated cockpit, carbon frame and an authentic yet aerodynamic design, this premium e-bike is a must-have for cycling enthusiasts looking for a unique and powerful cycling experience. The e-bike is available from today in a limited batch of sixty units via Saroléa's webshop.
As early as 1905, motorised bicycles rolled off the assembly line at the iconic Belgian brand Saroléa. Today, 120 years later, the brand makes a nod to those times with the Saroléa LE60 and heralds the start of a new chapter in its rich history.
“Although the combustion engine is giving way to an electric drive, we are continuing on the same momentum,” says Bjorn Robbens, CEO of Saroléa. “We poured all our expertise and years of experience in performance, comfort, propulsion and carbon into this project, combining it with the battery technology know-how that we have gained in recent years through sister company C-Battery. The result is a niche product that Saroléa has embodied for over a hundred years: qualitative, high-tech and progressive.”
1,200 Wh
The Saroléa LE60 was developed with the help of the talented team at Specter in Ghent. The e-bike has two motors with a combined peak power of 1,200W, resulting in impressive acceleration and optimal support in various conditions such as headwinds or steep hills.
“The energy is provided by a 1,200 Wh battery integrated in the frame, which was developed in-house,” states Kurt Fierens, COO at Saroléa. “Depending on the assistance mode and conditions, a range of up to 130 km was made possible. That range, as well as the excellent rigidity and responsiveness, is enabled by the lightweight carbon used for the frame, fork and battery holders. Weighing just 26 kg, the LE60 is the lightest dual-motor pedelec on the market.”

Connectivity
The speed pedelec is equipped with an integrated cockpit that displays all relevant data and offers features such as built-in GPS, 4G and the ability to lock the bike with a personal code. Through a smartphone app, settings can be adjusted and ride data becomes accessible. The cockpit also gives access to personalised settings, a training programme based on produced wattages and allows uploading of route GPX files.
Design
In terms of design, Saroléa has completely shaped the bike to its liking. The high-gloss black piano finish with gold accents refers to the rich history, sense of exclusivity and the experience in the world of motorsport of the brand that saw the light of day in 1850. The grips and vintage Brooks brand carbon saddle complete the authentic look. The saddle was designed for riders looking for a mix of comfort, durability and lightweight performance. The upholstery was crafted by Kontour and underlines Saroléa's national pride with tricolour stitching. Optionally, the saddle rests on a Sarolea flex seatpost that offers exceptional comfort and shock absorption through suspension.
Product with a soul
From the stitched saddle and brass accents, to the hand-painted details, number plates andtitanium pedals: all details contribute to the premium character of this bike. Combined with the high-tech components, the LE60 imitates a perfect marriage between innovation and authenticity.
“That was definitely our intention. Through experience, we have learned that’s how we appeal to a specific audience. This e-bike is for bike lovers and collectors who want to consume a product with a soul, cherish it and become part of our story. As a brand, we embrace a close relationship with our customers and attach utmost importance to how they experience Saroléa and our bikes,” testifies Bjorn Robbens.
Price
The exclusive nature of the e-bike and Saroléa's dedication to craftsmanship also translate into the limited number of units the motorbike brand is making accessible to the public. As of today, only sixty are available, and can be ordered via the webshop. The cost is 14,000 euros, comparable to a Stromer ST7. Those who are interested can book a test ride via the website, and those who proceed to purchase or lease can collect the bike in Oudenaarde or get it delivered to their home in person. For maintenance, Saroléa provides a pick-up and delivery service.
